A:   Liners most always are in pencil form. Get the point fairly sharp and outline your lips with the same color pencil as the lipstick you’ll be using. This method will give you a natural look. Lining prevents feathering and helps to give you a polished look.

Q:  What’s the best way to apply undereye concealer?

A:   First, always choose a color that’s one lighter than your foundation. Use a synthetic brush --- gives a more natural finish than using your fingers --- to dip into concealer and apply on the sides of your nose and under the eyes.

Q:  I have have very fair skin and practically platinum hair. what are my best colors?

A:  Staying soft , not harsh, is your aim. So select a palatte of peaches and pinks and soft plums for your lips and cheeks. For eyes, just about any color works for you: from greens, to blues to lilacs to taupes to grays. Just make sure to use a light hand when applying. You’ll be assured of that by using a brush for shadow, not the enclosed sponge applicator.

Q:  How can I prevent clumpy mascara lashes?

A:   First check your store’s shelves for the newest formulations that combine curling and color in one mascara tube. You’ll also find brands that come with a comb to separate lashes after you’ve applied mascara, which de-clumps magically. Finally, when applying, remember that one coat usually does the trick.

Q:   I have very dry skin. How should I cleanse?

A:  In the evening use a gentle and creamy cleanser. In the morning skip the cleanser and just use water. And don’t forget the mositurizer!

A:  At night, after cleansing, apply a moisturizer that’s made especially for evening, while you’re sleeping. In the morning choose a lighter moisturizer, preferably one with an SPF of at least 15.

A:  Whether you purchase a lotion, cream or stick foundation, the best way to apply is to use a cosmetic sponge. A sponge (use wet for a sheer glow; use dry for more coverage) helps to control the amount of foundation and gives the most natural of finishes.

Q:   How can I prevent chips to my manicure?

A:   Most professional manicurists agree that applying a clear, topcoat of polish every day keeps your nails from chipping.

Q:   How can I give my fine hair the lift I crave?

A:  Solutions abound: first try drying your hair when it’s damp -- not soaking wet. Then spritz a bit of a volumizer at the roots only. When you’re drying, aim the nozzle at the roots, but at least two inches away. Buy some velcro rollers and use them for about five minutes after you’ve finished blowdrying. then lightly spray your hair and you should have all the body you want.

A:   Try this: apply a primer to your lid so the shadow will set. (Primers are usually found in cream or cake form and are nude in color). Then choose a powder shadow as opposed to a cream; it will last longer on your lid.
